Designing GenAI Literacy Experiences in Blackboard – Gamified, Flexible, Impactful
Join Learning Designers Javier Mármol Queraltó and Peter Boorman as they share the design and delivery of a GenAI Literacy course built entirely within Blackboard. This innovative course uses a gamified structure with three progressive difficulty levels to engage learners in understanding generative AI concepts and applications.
Using Blackboard’s native tools—assignments, release conditions, groups, and enrolment methods—the course has successfully supported two distinct formats: a 6-hour in-person synchronous event and a 4-day asynchronous fully online experience. Both formats maintained high learner engagement and completion rates, thanks to the adaptive structure and interactive design.
