Anthology shortlisted for prestigious BETT Award for award-winning Virtual Learning Environment, Blackboard Learn Ultra

LONDON January 2, 2024 -- Anthology, a leading provider of education solutions that support the entire learner lifecycle, announced today that Blackboard Learn Ultra has been named a finalist as part of the 2024 BETT Awards. Learn Ultra has been shortlisted in the Higher Education – Digital Learning Product category as part of the annual technology awards for education.

Anthology's next-generation virtual learning environment (VLE) allows educators to deliver simpler, more powerful, teaching and learning experiences while enabling pedagogical best practice. The BETT Awards recognition highlights Blackboard Learn’s industry-leading innovation, like the AI Design Assistant within Learn, a new feature that is inspiring instructors and helping them build more engaging courses more efficiently, allowing them more time to work directly with learners.

The AI Design Assistant, the only generative AI-facilitated tool currently available as part of any major LMS is among the hundreds of new features released for Blackboard Learn and the result of significant investment in product development and user experience. In December, Anthology released the next phase of its industry-leading vision for generative AI, centring on empowering instructors to build more authentic assessments. The investment in user experience and feature development is driving recognition among institutions.

“We chose Learn Ultra for several core reasons. It’s intuitive, mobile-friendly, device-agnostic, responsive and accessible,” said Rob Farmer, Learning Technology Manager at University of Northampton. “Our staff like that their courses look cleaner, their content is at most three clicks away, and new features are introduced all the time.”

“Higher education is at a critical inflection point, with AI set to transform the industry and institutions pushed to rethink everything,” said JD White, Chief Product Officer at Anthology. “We’re committed to leading that transformation and we’re backing it up by infusing industry-leading, AI-facilitated innovation into Learn Ultra. This recognition affirms we’re on the right path toward helping our partners meet this moment.”

The BETT Awards will take place during the BETT Show at London's Excel on 24 January 2024, when the final winners will be revealed.
