Anthology's Occupation Insight Makes an Impact on Higher Ed

Since July of last year, six of Anthology’s higher education customers have implemented Anthology Occupation Insight, providing their students with a powerful career readiness tool, which allows them better awareness and preparation for future employment. Coppin State University and Pasco Hernando State College were among the number of institutions Anthology’s implementation teams collaborated with in recent months. With four additional institutions going live last quarter and many more on the horizon, it seems momentum is building for this game-changing product.

“A common goal among each of our higher ed customers is to support meaningful and informed career exploration for their students,” said Amanda Lorens, Senior Strategic Consultant for Anthology, who is leading the company’s first ever quick launch cohort model. “We look forward to many more implementations of Occupation Insight this year, as other institutions learn what this product can do to help students understand how their courses and programs of study connect to their future occupations.”

A tangible benefit of Occupation Insight is that it can be implemented quickly, early in the student’s academic lifecycle, and allow for more meaningful data-based decisions right away. Through the use of customized reports and dashboards, this solution can not only support the long-term evolution of the institutions’ guided pathways, but also help them to improve those pathways as needed.

Pasco Hernando State College was the first of these institutions to implement Occupation Insight using Anthology’s newly offered quick launch methodology. Within less than a month of launching Occupation Insight last July, the Florida-based, four-year institution was able to use customized reports to support career exploration for all Workforce Development programs and as an aid in student advising appointments. Leveraging this tool, students and advisors can better determine how a particular course, sequence, or skill will improve a student’s competitiveness in the marketplace. It can also help to address skills gaps earlier, while there is still a chance to course correct.

In Spring 2020, Coppin State University began integrating Anthology Occupation Insight directly into CSU’s College of Business core curriculum courses and by fall 2020, they were able to utilize related tasks and assignments at every grade level, from first years to seniors. Using Occupation Insight’s specialized reports, they also worked to map their curriculum to the skill demand. They are now providing a path for their students to acquire these skills through an upgraded curriculum, or by supplementing with elective courses and other resources. Coppin State is also the first institution to integrate Occupation Insight with PeopleSoft, and embed Occupation Insight reports into CampusNexus® Engage, Anthology’s intelligent CRM platform.

Anthology Occupation Insight is one of Anthology’s leading student success and retention tools, offering institutions, students, parents and academic advisors better insight into a student’s future career success. This game-changing solution not only improves career coaching and placement success by identifying current regional and national employment opportunities, but also empowers students to market the education and skills they have gained.
