KCTCS adopts Anthology Reach to deliver faster, smarter student experience and support

Work is underway for students across Kentucky’s 16 community and technical colleges to benefit from faster service, more personalized support and streamlined communication.

The Kentucky Community and Technical College has selected Anthology® Reach to improve operational efficiencies and drive student success. Designed to simplify the student experience from application to graduation, the new system will replace several legacy tools for admissions, text messaging and early alerts and will help staff quickly identify and support student needs with visibility to real-time data.

Anthology Reach is a purpose-built, cloud-based constituent relationship management (CRM) SaaS solution designed specifically for higher education. Built on Microsoft Dynamics 365, Reach supports key functions such as recruitment, admissions, enrollment, student engagement and outreach in one platform.

“We see this as an opportunity to leverage data in new ways to support our students from initial interest through the start of their career,” said Christopher Hetherington, Ed.D., executive director of strategic enrollment management at KCTCS. “With Anthology Reach, we can better identify students who may be struggling, whether academically or with external challenges, and intervene earlier.”

Anthology Reach is the only CRM platform with built-in academic engagement insights powered by Blackboard, the online learning management system that KCTCS students use. These AI-driven tools give advisors early alerts and predictive indicators to identify students at academic risk and take timely, effective action to support their success.

"Our goal is simple—help students succeed,” said KCTCS President Ryan Quarles. “By better supporting students at every step, we’re not just helping them reach their goals, we’re building a more highly skilled workforce to meet critical shortages and power Kentucky’s future.”

“We believe that when institutions have the right tools and insights, they can make an even greater impact on student success,” said Bruce Dahlgren, CEO of Anthology. “With Anthology Reach, KCTCS is taking a significant step toward a more connected, data-driven approach that will empower students, faculty, and staff alike. This partnership exemplifies the Power of Together—bringing technology and education closer to create meaningful, life-changing opportunities for learners across Kentucky and beyond.”

With more than 110,000 students annually, KCTCS is the largest postsecondary education provider in the state, representing over 45% of Kentucky’s public undergraduate enrollment. Creating consistent, high-quality support for students is central to the system’s mission.
