On-Demand Webinar

LEARNing LTI

In this session, we walked you through developing a simple LTI 1.3 application, registering it on our developer portal, and deploying it on a Blackboard® Learn system. We described at a high level the necessary concepts of the OIDC login initiation prior to launch, the JWT used in both the OIDC login and launch, and how your tool displays it’s content in Learn. To demonstrate these concepts, we used a simple Python framework that uses an LTI 1.3 Python library to handle the complexities of the OIDC login initiation, JWKS URL, and JWT management. At the end of the webinar, you’ll have a solid understanding and a working example for everything you need to build your first LTI 1.3 application and to have it set up on a Learn system.

This webinar series is intended for members of the Blackboard Learn Developer Community who are looking to or have already started converting existing B2s to LTI with REST applications. This webinar should be useful for those who are looking to create entirely new integrations with Blackboard Learn as well.

The intended audience here is one of a more technical nature, who are just beginning their journey to integration with Blackboard Learn. We intend to cover more advanced topics as the series progresses, and will use earlier topics to cover baseline information we want everyone in the community to have absorbed.
