Global Advancement of Digital Education Impact Area
Our focus
Across the globe, higher education institutions are addressing digital transformation, particularly around teaching and learning. The pandemic forced a worldwide push into digital education. As a result, we know that digital education is and will be the cornerstone for making education available in all countries. GADE is focused on ways to advance these efforts through sharing research and best practices, helping countries develop policies and processes to support quality digital and virtual learning, and participating in UNESCO’s organizations, such as its Global Education Council. The intersection of education and educational technology will help to close the digital learning divide, and the international GADE team regularly tracks these advancements.
Looking ahead
This year, GADE will be working closely with UNESCO, global education leaders, and other international associations to address the efficacy of EdTech and digital transformation in a global context. The team’s work will include blogs, online webinars, conference presentations, and continuing previous work to train teachers and faculty in high impact areas.

Coleman Cooper

Senior Director of Global Professional Services
Coleman Cooper is a leader in the field of educational technology, with a distinguished career spanning over three decades. Her passion for leveraging technology to transform and enhance the learning experience has been a driving force behind her leadership at Blackboard and now Anthology. As the senior director of Global Professional Services at Anthology, she is responsible for the delivery of Professional Services globally.
Prior to Anthology, she was with Blackboard for 11 years, where she was responsible for the delivery of services in North America and for the Project Management team. Coleman was the campus director for the ITT Technical Institute in Cary, North Carolina, where she led the campus towards increased enrollments, rigorous academic oversight, financial aid compliance, student career placement, and national/state accreditation. For eight years she worked for the National University System, where she increased online program enrollments across the globe, led faculty training, LMS platform migrations, course development, and process improvement. While at National University System, she helped to develop the “Effective E-Learning Model” (e2L) and coauthored Building Better Online Learning: An Evolving Model and From Evolution to Revolution: Updates to Effective e-Learning Model to Facilitate Better Learning. Prior to that she worked for eCollege, where she developed online courses for faculty, managed the instructional design consultants, and was the client management consultant for their large strategic accounts.
Coleman earned a B.S. in Community Services at East Carolina University and her M.S. degree in Instructional Technology from National University.
